Who Am I?

wanderlust |ˈwändərˌləst|
-a strong desire to travel

adventure |adˈvenCHər, əd-|
-daring and exciting activity calling for enterprise and enthusiasm

Welcome fellow adventurers!

I love traveling, but where this wanderlust began is anyone’s guess. As a kid I looked forward to our family road trips and I’ll never forget the thrill of my first flight. It didn’t help that I was addicted to action-adventure films: Indiana Jones, Lord of the Rings, Pirates of the Caribbean, Star Wars, and so many more. They made me want to be an adventurer – to experience the world – and I’ve done what I can to become one.

Accompanied by wife (who is as obsessed with travel as I am) I’ve been lucky enough to visit a plethora of countries, and even lived abroad in Cambodia, England, and Scotland – so far. Adventure is in our blood and I couldn’t have asked for a better partner to accompany me on my exploits.

Traveling has given me a wider understanding of the world. I have been able to experience so many different cultures over the course of my travels, and in the end that’s the best part about being an adventurer.

But travel without reflection is meaningless. Filling up a passport with exotic locations is only as good as the memories that accompany those stamps, and that’s why I write. To share my experiences with you, and maybe, just maybe, to inspire you to do a little reflection of your own.

Following the example of E.B. White (and I take some literary liberty here) “All that I hope to say in [blogs], all that I ever hope to say, is that I love the world.” The world is a marvelous place and these are my adventures.

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you’ll stay awhile. Cheers!

  1. no idea you had a blog AJ! I enjoyed reading about your experiences abroad in Scotland. Given the distance between friends electronic means is the only way to relive the memories and adventures from the past :). I’m grateful blogging is one medium for this.
